In 1987, when Foresight Analysts, Inc. designed its now familiar sunburst logo, the process was one of pure artistry reflecting imagination and vision. Over the years, clients and friends have asked if our logo is a sunrise or a sunset. In a sense, like all art it portrays whatever the viewer finds in it.
In 2004, when choosing an image that would convey the mutual sense of optimism shared by the owners and staff of The Foresight Companies, LLC, the sunburst design was again an obvious choice. It is reflective of the shared commitment to blending prudence with creativity and the clarity of perception gained when looking forward.
Two-hundred years ago, when the Constitutional Convention was in session, Benjamin Franklin was captivated by a similar half-sun which decorated the back of George Washington’s chair. At the conclusion of the Convention, here is how Mr. Franklin interpreted the similar sun:
“I have often and often in the course of the session, and the vicissitudes of my hopes and fears as to its issue, looked at that sun behind the President without being able to tell whether it was rising or setting: But now at length I have the happiness to know that it is a rising and not a setting sun.”
We hope that while working with The Foresight Companies, LLC, clients who are in the dawn of their careers, as well as those who are approaching the sunset years, will all perceive that the sun is rising on a new horizon.
